How Uncanny Live Came About

The concept of the live show when Tilted’s founder Sam Hodges approached Danny Robins to pitch the idea of a genuine stage adaptation, as distinct from many of the more basic ‘podcast show’ offerings on the market. Given Danny’s background in performance and writing for the stage, and Sam’s background as a theatre director and producer, there was obvious synergy for creating a live show that leant into the sense of atmosphere and suspense at the heart of the podcast.

The process of creating the live shows begins with choosing stories that offer up the most in terms of potential for video, sound and lighting design, as well as stories that feel plausible, original and intriguing. Danny and Sam develop a script that brings the stories to life, through a combination of first person storytelling and the usual insightful analysis from the Team Believer and Team Sceptic camps.
